Position Summary
Rekor's Payroll Specialist is responsible for all input and
verification of employee data to support on and off-cycle payrolls.
Specific duties include but are not limited to: performing
bi-weekly review of payroll data to ensure items like garnishments,
time data, pay adjustments, benefit and general deductions are
computed correctly, reviewing withholding information (employee and
employer taxes) and preparation of various remittances like
commissions and bonuses, and resolution of payroll issues and
concerns. The ideal candidate will serve as the organization's
expert on all payroll related items.
The Contribution:
Lead, manage, enter, maintain and process all US payroll for an
organization of 300+ employees; ensure all employee payroll
transactions are processed accurately and timely.
Process prior quarter/prior year tax adjustments as needed
Understand various types of garnishments and calculations that
employees may have to ensure compliance.
Assist the Finance with audits to provide payroll record reports as
well as general reconciliations to 941 and W2 documentation
Setup new codes for the General Ledger Map Interface
Responsible for biweekly/monthly/quarterly importing of payroll
journal entries into our accounting system, Sage Intacct, and
perform reconciliation within the ADP ledger
Process and validate special payments such as one-time bonuses and
monthly commissions
Review timecard data to verify accuracy and check for any
outliers
Facilitate and respond to general questions from employees related
to payroll, pay-related inquiries, wage deductions, PTO accruals,
benefits, etc. with professionalism, effective communication, and
discretion.
Understand the taxation of employer paid benefits, employee pre-tax
deductions, and earnings with specific taxation methods.
Ability to identify and encourage continuous improvement measures
relating to procedures, processes, and standardization within the
team.
Maintain state and local tax registrations
Communicate and partner with our payroll provider, ADP, to resolve
issues

following competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related
field preferred
3-5 years of experience being accountable for the payroll function
for a 300+ employee population
Prior experience running payroll in ADP. Experience with using Sage
Intacct and Clock Shark is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience meeting deadlines
Understanding of Federal, State and Local employment tax laws and
regulations
Communicates well both verbally and in writing with all levels of
roles across organization
Demonstrates cross-cultural sensitivity in a globally diverse
company
Strong attention to details and follow-through on assigned tasks
and commitments
Strong organizational skills - you can effectively disseminate
information in a clear manner
