The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and clerical department. As the Plant Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. The permanent Plant Controller position is situated in Caroline County, MD.Your responsibilities in this role- Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll- Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals- Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners- Manage and mentor accounting staff- Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time- Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations- Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies- Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation- Lead compilation of annual budget and coordinate with the local team and the corporate accounting team- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective- Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis- Manage bank account relationships as neededFor more information on this and other full-time accounting and finance opportunities across the Baltimore metro area, please contact Brian LeBright at Robert Half - 443-870-4710.
