will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at
least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources
with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.CRIMINAL
BACKGROUND CHECK: -Eligible candidates under final consideration
for appointment to this position identified as positions of trust
will be required to authorize the release of and successfully
complete a Fingerprint check.PROBATION: -All persons, including
current City employees, selected from this -position will be on
probation for 6 months. CLASS DESCRIPTION A Procurement Specialist
II reviews, analyzes and develops highly complex procurement
contracts for the procurement of specialized services and
technology for City agencies. Work of this class may involve
leading professional and paraprofessional procurement employees but
does not involve full supervisory duties or responsibilities.

Employees receive minimum to moderate supervision from a
Procurement Manager. Employees in this class work a conventional
workweek. Work is performed in an office setting where there is no
exposure to environmental hazards. Work requires minimal physical
exertion. SELECTION PROCESS All candidates indicating the minimum
qualifications on their application will be placed on the eligible
list without further examination. The license, training, and
experience of each candidate will be evaluated for appropriateness
and quantity. - It is essential, therefore, that you give complete

may prevent you from being considered for the position. Qualified
candidates will not be listed in rank order. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate
must:
EDUCATION: -Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or
university. -AND
EXPERIENCE: Have three -years of procurement experience including
procurement planning and solicitation preparation, contract
development, negotiation, and contract administration, with
emphasis in utilizing complex Request for Proposal (RFP),
Invitation for Bid (IFB), Request for Information (RFI), and
Request for Quote (RFQs). -OR
- NOTES (EQUIVALENCIES): Have a master's degree from an accredited
college or university; two years of procurement experience
including procurement planning and solicitation preparation,
contract development, negotiation, and contract administration,
with an emphasis in utilizing complex RFP's IFB's, RFI's, and
RFQs.
OR
Have a -juris -doctor from an accredited school of law; and one
year of procurement experience to include but not limited to
procurement planning and solicitation preparation, contract
development, negotiation, and contract administration, with
emphasis in utilizing complex RFPs, IFBs, RFIs, and RFQs. OR
- CPPB designation and five years of experience within the previous
ten years. A minimum of 50% of the required years of experience
must be in government or public sector. LICENSES, -REGISTRATIONS,
AND CERTIFICATIONS: - Employees in this classification must take
and pass the Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council
(UPPCC) test for certification as a Certified Professional Public
Buyer (CPPB) within three years of hiring and maintain
certification. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The examination will consist of a rating of your education,
training, and experience as presented on your application and as
they relate to the requirements of the position. You may be
required to complete supplemental questions to further examine
specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities of the position.
