Overview
The National Security Directorate (NSD) Project Management Office
Director (PMOD) is currently seeking a Financial Coordinator (FC)
to support the PMOD office and the activities within the PMO's
purview. The successful candidate will provide financial
coordinator support to the Computational, Data, and Software
Solutions PMO. The successful candidate will also integrate into a
tightly-knit team. The PMO Director is responsible for risk
acceptance and expert delivery, which includes customer
satisfaction and project performance. The Computational, Data, and
Software Solutions PMO consists of projects that produce data
science related analyses and solutions, involves data analytics
and/or machine learning, develops software products, and relies on
solutions developed for computational systems.
Responsibilities
The Financial Coordinator contributes to PNNL through financial
support of project management. Jobs on this hierarchy require
specific expertise and knowledge of standards, practices, and
procedures typically acquired through specialized training and/or
work-related experience and/or formal technical education. Jobs in
this job family are individual contributors and are responsible for
the end results achieved through own work.The ideal candidate will
use best practices and knowledge of a wide range of PNNL business
systems to assist project managers and financial coordinators
throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate also solves
complex problems and exercises judgment based on the analysis of
multiple sources of information, takes a new perspective using
existing solutions, acts as a resource for colleagues with less
experience, tracks progress and identifies/resolves obstacles, and
communicates to internal and external stakeholders. The candidate
must have the ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
The ideal candidate will also be able to process and explain
complex, difficult and/or sensitive information with Project
Managers and Financial Coordinators and work to build consensus
across the PMO.
Major challenges of the position involve1) initiating and managing
financial coordinator actions efficiently and appropriately,
exercising independent judgment on a wide diversity of assignments
that must be completed simultaneously, and 2) ensuring all work is
consistent and of high quality that meets or exceeds expectations,
and 3) interfacing routinely with a variety of PNNL staff, foreign
delegations, DOE, and DOE contractors.Responsibilities:

selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment and
