at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, located 6121 Montrose Rd,
Rockville, MD 20852. OUR Junior Accountant, Resident Funds POSITION
Charles E. Smith Life Communities (CESLC) maintains a resident
trust account at a bank for those nursing home residents who choose
to participate. A resident funds account is utilized to manage
finances for a resident. The Junior Accountant, Resident Funds is
responsible for review, recordation, coordination, management and
oversight of resident funds The Junior Accountant, Resident Funds
regularly interacts with residents, resident family members, and
other responsible parties regarding the management of resident
funds held by CESLC. Critical skills for this position include a
customer service-oriented attitude, exceptional organizational
skills, clear communications, confidentiality, detail-oriented, and
acting with the highest degree of integrity. RESPONSIBILITIES •
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of
Title 10 of the COMAR regulations as it relates to resident funds,
while executing all transactions and communications accordingly and
in a timely manner. • Serve as a fiduciary of resident funds and
ensure that unauthorized individuals are denied access to these
accounts. • Write checks, process withdraws, and execute deposits
for all activities related to the resident fund accounts. •
Coordinate with residents, their families, and/or other responsible
parties to obtain appropriate documentation prior to processing any
reimbursements/payments. • Review Medicaid Notices of Eligibility
(NOE) to ensure that individual resources are timely received, and
remitted to CESLC. Ensure that all differences are timely
identified and resolved. • Coordinate with the Medicaid Resident
Resource Accountant monthly to ensure all balances due from
resident funds to the nursing home have been paid in accordance
with the NOE and any credit balances are resolved timely and
refunded to the resident funds account. • Assist in the preparation
of the annual Unclaimed Property Report filed with the state of
Maryland. • Support state of Maryland surveys and other internal
audits by timely and completely responding to all questions and
inquiries. • Furnish quarterly bank statements to the residents
and/or their responsible parties within one week of receipt of the
bank statements. • Complete all account opening, change of status,
and closure paperwork within required time frames. • Notify
resident or their responsible party, and Manager, Financial
Reports, when an account balance is $200 below the current Medicaid
asset limit. Coordinate and monitor spend-down plan with resident
or their responsible party to ensure the resident fund balance
remains below the current Medicaid asset limit eligibility. •
Update, on a weekly basis, the Power of Attorney roster and
Competency Roster for all current residents SHIFTS & STATUS This is
a FULL TIME HOURLY position with a M-F schedule. EDUCATION &
TRAINING Associate degree in Accounting and 2 years of experience,
or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; including Word and Excel.
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.
Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties.

provider to Senior Living Care our facility requires all hired
associates to provide proof of vaccination records, including two
doses of MMR, two doses of Varicella, and a Negative TB screen
before the start of employment. Another source of documentation
that can be accepted is a Titer or Lab test that expresses proven
immunity to the following diseases. Upon employment our Talent
Acquisition team will provide additional details regarding CESLC
vaccination policy.
