GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Project Manager position within Human Resources (HR), supports HR with budget development, financial monitoring, business planning, cost metrics, and analysis to drive business decisions and measurements related to Johns Hopkins Health System and Allocation Based services. Will lead projects and programs collaborating with leadership across all of Johns Hopkins, with focus on JHM. Through the use of analytical, financial and database tools and information, this position will develop processes supporting business planning and strategy, analysis of business viability, and pricing of delivered services. This position will develop business and financial plans, make recommendations to leadership on investment strategies for new services and solutions to develop reporting measurements and methodologies for key stakeholders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver value-added solutions and deliverables.

* Develop Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for new strategies, applications, and infrastructure within HR including the creation of business and financial plans for leadership

* Oversee launches of new services, or re-launches of existing services, and monitor financial performance

* Collaborate with project managers, directors, users, and sponsors to identify key components in the HR business/strategy plan including scope, hard and soft benefits, costs, revenue, risks, assumptions, business offsets, implementation, timeline and other deliverables as identifies.

* Develop and present business plans as appropriate

* Utilize various tools and data analysis programs to enhance decision making surrounding costing, funding, consumption of services, pricing and integration

* Utilize data from many sources for business studies, what if analyses, and transparency of reporting to affiliates

* Research and report on HR business practices in comparison to peers and benchmarks to ensure competitiveness

* Create measurement standards across HR as they relate to financial decisions to seek investment in applications, solutions, and strategies and potential fee for service offerings across the enterprise

* Contribute key measurements to management dashboards with both financial and non-financial key data

* Participate in key benchmarking studies and analyses

* Understand complex data from many systems of record

* Develop financial models for cost sharing among Health System stakeholders and present to leadership for review, seeking approval and oversee implementation

* Develop financial models for fee for service or allocation based offerings and track financial performance and sustainability

* Understand and deliver key components of business plans, both quantitative and qualitative

* Analyze business problems and propose appropriate automated solutions, business/financial processes and procedures

* Create feasibility studies and proof of value for proposed methodologies and project deliverables

* Develop best practices and benchmark reporting to enhance leadership decisions and communication of the value of HR

* Develop data driven metrics to support HR funding decisions across Johns Hopkins and implement new methodologies for HR services and solutions

* Research industry trends in HR health system management and provide input for implementation and decisions at Johns Hopkins

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor s degree in health care financial management, finance/accounting or related field.

Five to seven years experience with business plan development, complex computer and financial systems and applications (preferably in an HR, IT, and/or health care financial environment) as well as leading projects.

MBA preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

* Specialized knowledge of and expertise in relevant source systems, applications, interfaces and operations/functional areas. Ability to analyze complex requirements, business processes and data models.

* Advanced proficiency in database applications, financial and statistical reporting packages, developing dashboards, Sharepoint, and other data and financial tools.

* Understanding business management of HR in a complex environment.

* Understanding of financial and business processes in health systems environment including financial implications of GBR and HSCRC.

* Ability to establish and meet work schedules within limited time frames and under tight deadlines. Able to coordinate the work of a diversified staff in various environments.

* SAP experience preferred.

* High degree of proficiency in MS-Office.

* Demonstrates advanced communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with management across the Health System.
