Full job description We provide services and employment for
individuals with vision loss or other disabilities. Keystone
Vocational Services has a new opportunity within the Fort Meade, MD
area. As a qualified nonprofit agency operating within the
AbilityOne program, Keystone Vocational Services hires people with
vision loss. For the majority of direct labor positions, Keystone
Vocational Services will obtain documentation of legal blindness as
required per the AbilityOne program. Due to federal contract
requirements, all candidates must be a United States Citizen
(Natural or Documented Naturalized) . The current position that we
have open is for General Clerk III. Hourly Rate: $21.44 with $5.03
Health & Welfare benefit. Schedule: Monday through Friday from
7:00AM to 3:00PM with all federal holidays off. Job Summary This
position requires familiarity with the terminology of the office
unit. The General Clerk III works in an office environment and may
operate independently within established procedures associated with
the provided mail services. This role will involve interaction with
various departments and external clients, requiring professional
demeanor and customer service skills. This position is crucial for
ensuring smooth office operations and supporting carious
administrative functions within the Agency. The General Clerk III
performs various clerical tasks, maintains records, and assists
with a wide variety of office operations. Primary Duties These
duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance
Review. Clerical Tasks: Performs routine clerical duties such as
preparing, filing, and maintaining physical or electronic records
and documents. Data Management: Inputs data into tracking
databases, compiles and verifies information using standard
procedures, and retrieves documents in response to requests from
internal or external customers. Office Support: Assists with
general office tasks, including copying, mailing, ordering
supplies, and answering phone calls. May greet visitors and direct
them to the appropriate personnel. Document Preparation: Types
entries on various documents, including forms, labels, and
correspondence, and submits typed work for review and approval.
Inventory Management: Takes inventory of office supplies, maintains
required supplies, and verifies supply receipts with orders.
Customer Relations: Conducts professional conversations with all
stakeholders of the contract to include internal and external
clients, program management, and senior management officials.
Additional Duties Team Support: Provides support across the
location and job assignments to ensure compliance with contractual
requirements where the General Clerk may need to help perform daily
tasks. Equipment Support: Assist the team in performing x-ray scans
using an x-ray machine to scan all mail and packages for security
of customers if required by contract. Safety: Responsible for
performing job in safe manner, with concern for others and a desire
to increase production; follow HAZMAT procedures for handling
potentially hazardous mail. Oversight: Provide oversight of
personnel, operations, communication, and performance relative to
site specific guidelines, contractual requirements, and government
regulations. Coverage: Provide coverage at offsite locations as
needed. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications:
Education, Experience, and Certification(s) High School Diploma, or
General Educational Development (GED) required. Preferred three to
five (3-5) years of related experience in the field. Preferred
experience working in a mail center. Experience in UPS and Federal
Express shipping and procedures. Knowledge of U.S. Postal
regulations in the process of dealing with incoming, outgoing,
certified, registered, insured and express mail. Experience in
operating various mailroom machines required. Active Secret
Clearance Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to
perform routine tasks on special class mail as well as routine and
repetitive tasks for long periods with minimum supervision. Must be
able to stand, reach, and walk for long periods of time. Ability to
make technical decisions regarding mail issues/questions. Ability
to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write
professional and technical reports and correspondence. Ability to
speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of
organization. Good reading and writing skills. Handwriting is
necessary. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished
in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Advanced ability to
operate a computer using Microsoft Office software and accountable
mail tracking system. Physical Demands The physical demands

regularly required to provide oversight of the performance of the
contract and give directions to the staff. The employee frequently
is required to stand; use hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop

must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally
