Job Summary This position is responsible for the coordination and execution of blood donor-facing communications. Acts as a supportive role bridging the gap between corporate marketing and operations. The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for the effective planning, development, execution, leadership, and evaluation of blood donor recruitment and recognition programs/strategies Essential Job Functions: Develops and executes long and short-term blood donor and sponsor communication plans, campaigns, and strategies with the goal of increasing overall number of blood donors, blood donor frequency, and donor retention and support strategic communication initiatives. Identify, develop and implement creative strategies to attract, manage, and retain blood donors and sponsoring groups to assist in meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual collection goals, including specific blood and donation type strategies. Build and maintain an annual calendar of initiatives to include weekly, monthly, and quarterly program and promotional information in alignment and coordination with marketing. Ensure all stakeholders meet deadlines and have input as needed for program effectiveness. Facilitate, plan and execute approved donor reward and recognition programs and events; including, but not limited to: preparing budgets, ensuring education and collaboration with internal resources, direction of assigned team, driving internal and external promotions, tracking and reporting return on investment. Determine, request, and allocate resources needed for implementation of programs. Work with internal stakeholders and vendors outside the organization to secure resources. Ensure appropriate inventory level and timely distribution of donor program materials, donor incentive items and communication. Monitor online program inventories and identify needs or gaps. Place reorders with vendors as needed and track pricing trends and opportunities. Develop content for and help lead centralized daily donor relations communications based on blood inventory needs, program messaging and general outreach. Coordinates with marketing and donor recruitment team for internal and external distribution. Conduct surveys or other feedback activities to support programs and communication efforts. This includes development, analysis of responses, reporting on outcomes and recommended future actions. Analyze and report on program, campaign and communication effectiveness. Make recommendations to enhance customer service, efficiency and productivity of donor management. Lead projects to improve processes and technology associated with donor and sponsor programs and communication. Identify needs, and manage distribution of promotional materials, in partnership with internal departments and stakeholders. Monitor the blood center website and suggest modifications for Donor Relations/Recruitment items to Marketing as necessary Education Requirements: --- Associates required. --- Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications or related field preferred. Experience: --- Minimum of 2 years' in field of project management, public relations/marketing, event planning, communication or related experience Schedule: --- Monday-Friday, office hours Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: --- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills required. --- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel required. --- Experience with PowerPoint, Illustrator strongly desired.. --- Must be detail oriented, and have the ability to remain accurate while under pressure. --- Must be highly organized with the ability to think logically, manage time effectively, prioritize and multi-task. --- Must have strong analytical skills including data analysis and data management. --- Experience working in a collaborative team environment strongly preferred. --- Must have professional appearance and demeanor.
