PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Institutional Senior Marketing Manager is a key member of the GIS marketing team and is responsible for delivering an exceptional client experience through the execution of institutional marketing plans for the US and Canada and by driving the go-to- market strategy in an effort to raise awareness and drive consideration of GIS investment products and value add programs.

The Institutional Senior Marketing Manager will build and lead a small team to develop and implement strategic and tactical integrated investment communication marketing plans leveraging multiple communication mediums (e.g., paid, owned and earned media) primarily focused on client retention, asset growth and brand awareness for current GIS institutional clients and prospects in the US and Canada. By creating efficiencies within sales and marketing groups, efforts of the Institutional Marketing team will result in better: project coordination of targeted campaigns, tracking mechanisms to measure results of campaign effectiveness, and use of relationship management and marketing limited resources. The incumbent will serve as a key partner with leaders of GIS Americas sales, client service, consultant relations, and product marketing leaders within GIS Marketing to ensure all functional areas (PR, advertising, event staff, senior managers, and other corporate services) are updated on key initiatives for assigned programs.

The Institutional Senior Marketing Manager and team (in tandem with internal and external agency and editorial resources) will lead the packaging and promotion of investment and value add program content --- some editing, proofing, and updating of product content including, but not limited to: marketing brochures and collateral for prospecting and client service, product collateral, case studies, event presentations, conference agendas topics and summaries, paid media content, shareholder/client communications, e-newsletters, and web site content.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Work closely with the Head of North America Marketing to partner broadly across GIS North America to build, execute and support the overall go-to-market strategy, including developing and delivering broad integrated GIS investment campaigns needed for various stages of a client---s lifecycle including awareness, consideration, conversion, service and retention.


    • Build strong partnerships, mobilize resources and engage regularly with a wide variety of groups, including GIS, product marketing, IPC editorial, marketing services, internal and external agencies to bring integrated campaigns to life for current GIS clients and new prospective investors across paid, owned, and earned assets.
    • Requires a deep understanding of investments, capital markets, marketing communications best practices, collaboration, enterprise navigation, and negotiation that will lead to greater awareness, content/asset engagement, and overall marketing effectiveness.
    • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders, such as GIS Marketing Leadership, product marketing, market research, relationship management, investments, and frequently collaborates with multiple stakeholders, including internal and external agency, digital team, product, investment product editorial, and others as appropriate.


      • Manage broad GIS integrated programs for the institutional segment and adjust strategy and tactics based on key metrics/learnings around effectiveness.


        • Support regular PR, advertising, and advertorial efforts through appropriate channels by leveraging firm wide investment content and driving new, segment-specific investment content.


          • Manage/ build an institutional marketing communications and promotions team focused on campaign execution, learning, and proactively serve up investment content ideas and opportunities by getting closer to client/segment needs.


            QUALIFICATIONS

            Required


            • College degree in related field
            • Strong investment product and capital markets knowledge.
            • Executing campaigns across different mediums (print, web/app, verbal, email etc.) essential, with expertise in targeted email campaigns and audience segmentation.
            • Proven leadership abilities and ability to influence at all levels.
            • Must perform timely execution well under time-sensitive deadlines.
            • Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
            • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
            • Strong intermediary and institutional marketing acumen.
            • Ability to execute on multiple corporate and business line and project strategies into actionable plans.
            • Ability to articulate process recommendations in a way that gains buy-in and support for implementation.
            • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships across multiple disciplines. Ability to interact effectively with functional, technical and creative disciplines.
            • Proven ability to gather and eventually use data insights to make decisions.
            • Possess a unique combination of strong project management leadership, people management finesse, initiative and some fluency in analysis, and strategic thinking and execution skills.
            • Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects.
            • Comfortable with developing/managing detail-oriented processes.
            • Ability to work on a fast-paced ever changing environment and remain flexible.
            • Ability to understand new concepts quickly.
            • Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
            • Communicate scope, timing and/or budget changes to team members and key stakeholders, developing contingency plans as needed.
            • Must be able to demonstrate persuasive techniques and negotiation skills.

              • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of investments, capital markets, asset management industry and value add programs
              • Strong marketing communications and content marketing ability
              • Strong project management preferred
              • Solid understanding of paid, owned, and earned channels preferred

              • Master's degree
