Job Description:
As a Mobile Container Mechanic at Clean Harbors, you will play a
crucial role in maintaining and repairing the containers that store
and transport hazardous waste materials. This position is integral
to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance of our
environmental operations. Working in diverse settings, you will be
expected to handle onsite repairs, preventative maintenance, and
ensure that all containers meet the strict industry and company
standards. Perform maintenance and repair of various types and
sizes of containers used for hazardous waste storage and transport.
Conduct inspections and certifications of containers according to
DOT and EPA regulations, ensuring all containers are compliant with
safety and environmental laws. Respond to service calls for
emergency container repairs at customer sites or in the field.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and
inspections. Collaborate with environmental technicians to ensure
waste is stored and transported in safe, compliant containers.
Apply technical skills to troubleshoot issues, replace parts, and
perform corrective actions on container mechanisms and structures.
Profound knowledge of welding and metal fabrication. Strong
mechanical aptitude, with skills in using hand tools and power
tools. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and
manuals. Familiarity with DOT and EPA regulations pertaining to
hazardous waste containers. Excellent problem-solving skills and
attention to detail. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance 401k Valid driver's license. Welding certification (e.g.,
AWS Certified Welder) is highly desirable. DOT Hazardous Materials
Training is a plus.
