Job Description Job Description An Auto Technician diagnoses,
repairs, and maintains vehicles to ensure safe, reliable operation.
This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to
detail, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to
customers or service advisors. Perform inspections, diagnostics,
and repairs on a wide range of vehicles Identify mechanical and
electrical issues using diagnostic tools and test drives Repair or
replace components such as brakes, suspension, engines,
transmissions, and driveline parts Conduct routine maintenance: oil
changes, fluid services, filters, belts, and tune?ups Document all
findings, recommended repairs, and completed work in a clear,
professional manner Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean,
organized work environment Communicate repair needs and timelines
to customers or service advisors Stay updated on new automotive
technologies, tools, and repair techniques Strong diagnostic and
problem?solving abilities Proficiency with hand tools, power tools,
and computerized diagnostic equipment Ability to read repair
manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical bulletins Solid
understanding of vehicle systems: engine, transmission, brakes,
suspension, electrical, HVAC Good communication and
customer?service skills Ability to work independently and manage
time efficiently Physical ability to lift parts, operate equipment,
and perform repairs 1–5 years of hands?on automotive repair
experience ASE certifications (or willingness to obtain) Experience
with specific brands or systems (optional depending on shop)
