Job Description:

As the Education Supervisor in our non public, special education school, you will have a chance to oversee the educational services to our students. Our school serves special education students who come to the school through the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process. As the Education Supervisor you will be responsible but not limited to do the following: Supervise growth and development of the special education teachers on the team; ensure appropriate delivery of special education instruction as stipulated on IEP's and in curriculum; facilitate the day to day classroom schedule and coverage for the school. As Education Supervisor, You Will:. Maintains a safe learning environment for students within the scope of the Arrow Center for Education administrative policies and procedures. Provides direct instruction to students either in a pull-out class or as a classroom role model. Hires, or participates in the hiring process, of instructional staff. Provides and documents direct individual and group supervision to teachers and practicum students according to policy and/or practicum requirements. Evaluates performance of instructional staff and practicum students. Conducts staff development trainings, according to identified needs. Assists in the assessment, design and implementation of the professional development program. Coordinates classroom staffing on a daily basis. Assists in the development and maintenance of a positive school culture. Maintains proper rules, safety and security of students, providing crisis management when necessary. Manages library, media center, instructional materials and technology resources of the school. Together with the Principal and other administrators, oversees the maintenance of policies and procedures which assure COMAR compliance. Arrow's Education Supervisor Requires: Master's Degree preferred and at least three (3) years experience in special education including experience with state assessments. Must be eligible for and must obtain a valid Maryland State Department of Education certification within 60 days of hire.
