ResponsibilitiesAs a Data Engineer at Noblis you will be part of our Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) account team. As part of the Noblis CMS team, you will be working across the CMS enterprise to address the challenges designing and creating SQL and NoSQL databases to support our artificial intelligence efforts using NLP, ML and Knowledge Graph technologies. The CMS account team delivers innovative and effective technology solutions, and drives IT transformation in support of and in collaboration with multiple business component partners across CMS to improve the quality, responsiveness, and delivery of healthcare services. This initiative includes development and implementation of innovations in data science and data engineering. As CMS continues to implement the components of the IT Modernization strategy, you will be an integral member of the team to guiding and innovating its policies, processes, and procedures for managing and controlling the enterprise.

  • Collaborate with development teams to create artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and help customers learn and use AI technologies.
  • Build and maintain serverless data pipelines, derived datasets, and data discovery platforms at scale using AWS cloud services
  • Develop and implement tests to ensure data quality across all integrated data sources
  • Build and maintain serverless APIs and microservices to simplify data mastering, access, interrogation, cleansing, and exchange
  • Collaborate directly with technical peers and non-technical end users to understand requirements, invent solutions, and create valueClient Engagement Begin developing relationships one level up and two levels down. Identify and support opportunities to expand project scope beyond current deliverable and actively share information about clients emerging support needs and trends with team members and management. Participate on proposalsQualifications
    • Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
    • 4+ years experience in design and implementation of complex distributed systems architectures
    • Experience using AWS cloud services for data processing, storage, computation, monitoring, event processing, machine learning, and messaging
    • Experience with non-relational, NoSQL databases and other data analytics applications
    • Experience with tools such as Amazon Neptune, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra and Hadoop (HBase)
    • Expertise in OLTP and OLAP systems design and performance optimization
    • Experience with RDBMS and SQL such as Postgres and Amazon Aurora
    • Experience driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
    • Current hands-on experience with at least two coding and scripting languages e.g. Python, Java, SPARQL, Shell Scripting
    • Experience consulting for optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance
