General Summary: The AWS Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing our build, deployment, and configuration management infrastructure in AWS to ensure our products are successfully provisioned, upgraded, and maintained.This is a unique early-stage position to influence the design and build of a best practice AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline for product delivery. The successful candidate will have support from other strategic cloud initiatives but can define their own destiny within the engineering organization they're enabling. Successful delivery of the mission means uplifting an already successful engineering organization into modern DevOps practices for AWS. Principal Duties & Responsibilities - Ensure industry best practice is being adopted in terms of infrastructure architecture, continuous delivery and integration, deployment, security, and test automation - Implement and maintain AWS account structure and infrastructure in collaboration with the Cloud, Engineering, and Test teams - Perform infrastructure cost analysis of internal tools and AWS services and enable cost effective design patterns - Guide Engineering and Test teams in adoption of AWS services and infrastructure - Work closely with Software Test, Engineering, and IT teams - Improve efficiency of infrastructure development and application development - Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) - Work collaboratively with teams to ensure our products are successfully deployed, upgraded, and maintained within our managed infrastructure Education: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred Experience: - Minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience in any combination of Software Development, System Administration or DevOps - Minimum 3+ years of professional experience with AWS services; specifically around enterprise account design in Control Tower and CI/CD with Code* services. - Experience working in a software product-based company or software development environment - Well versed in Agile methodologiesKnowledge, Skills, Abilities: - Professional Experience with the following technology:o Building and maintaining AWS services such as VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, Lambda, RDS, SES, SNS, API Gateway, Control Tower, and Code*o Linux based systems including administration and scriptingo Java, Python, and Groovy programming languageso Automation/orchestration tools such as Ansible and Packero Infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, and CloudFormationo Docker and containerizationo CI/CD tools and services such as AWS Code*, GitHub, Jenkins - Possess a thorough understanding of security related principals - Excellent cross functional collaboration skills - Ability to anticipate problems and develop effective, proactive solutions - Willing to work on tasks outside of normal duties if needed to support company objectives EEO Statement: Advarra provides equal employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of their race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran, marital, or domestic partner status, citizenship, genetic information or any other status or characteristic covered by federal, state, or local law.
