Maintenance Mechanic II
We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II G10. The Maintenance
Mechanic II G10 performs a wide range of general maintenance jobs
(including high voltage motors) which may include specialized or
difficult jobs. Repairs, maintains, and inspects machines,
mechanical equipment, and buildings. Works on plumbing, electrical,
and air conditioning and heating systems. Performs painting and
carpentry jobs.

Position is casual to start. Will become fulltime union member
after successful completion of 90 day probation period.
**This is a Bargaining Unit position. All newly hired employees in
Bargaining Unit positions shall be considered "probationary"
employees until completion of 90 calendar days of employment. These
employees shall become members of the Bargaining Unit if this
employment continues beyond four months. The university will notify
the employees' union. Bargaining Unit employees shall become
eligible for benefits upon completion of their probationary
period.

Starting Salary Range: $23.58 per hour, increases to $28.31 after
12 months
Employee group: Casual status with full-time schedule during 90 day
probationary period. 40 hour work week from start date.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester
hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of
experience. Additional related experience may substitute for
required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is
permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may
be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required
for the respective job.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas,
laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving
community contact requires documentation of immune status against
Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella
(chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the
Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include
documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella
vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory
testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are
ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for
those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization
