This is an exciting opportunity to design and develop bearing and
shaft components for Ford electric power units and ICE
transmissions shaping the future of mobility around the globe. Our
EV program applications are growing tremendously, and we are
seeking creative and technically driven engineers to succeed in
delivering world class designs. In this role, you will join our
team of component engineers to develop bearing and shaft systems
for power units in multiple global programs. These projects entail
creating new design proposals/solutions, performing analytical
calculations/CAE as well as test execution and analysis of results.

Component engineering position to support the design and release of
bearings and shafts for powertrain systems including EV, Hybrid and
ICE applications
Design, analyze, validate components to vehicle program timing
requirements
Develop optimum bearing efficiency, manufacturing parameters and
validate system power loss
Optimize component designs for functional attributes, weight, and
costuthor and maintain failure mode analysis engineering
documentation
Lead 'Team of 4' cross functional teams, including PD, Cost
Estimating, Finance, and Purchasing
Perform critical development tests to validate CAE life models
Lead analytical and empirical DVP validation with system teams per
program timing
Lead global market test and design review forums for new
components
Lead multiple suppliers globally to deliver program milestone
requirements
Document test results and prepare test reports
Lead, review and assess 2D/3D CAD data, stacks and VSA studies
Support product robustness with EMC specifications in mind
Support purchasing workstreams and tools such as Ariba/e3P
Process
Lead engineering design and release and documentation process
(WERS)
Engineering degree required (recent college graduates will be
considered)
Exceptional communication & organizational skills
Highly motivated and demonstrated strong problem-solving skills
Passion to progress state of the art bearing and shaft design for
BEV powertrains
Interest to develop new bearing design/modeling techniques with CAE
Development teams
Interest in battery electric and electro-mechanical component and
system design
Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCad, Catia, Matlab,
Teamcenter preferred
Enthusiastic commitment to support high pressure product launch
environment
