Job Description:

Under general supervision, but according to established procedures, operates power plant equipment such as boilers, chillers, pumps, compressors, and all related auxiliaries.
Education
High School diploma
Experience
1 year related experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a large steam and refrigeration plant required to gain expertise necessary to troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and fully understand boiler equipment operation.
Skills
- Skill in data analysis and interpretation.
- Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions and operate and make minor repairs to boiler room equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC equipment, commercial refrigerators, ice machines. Ability to accomplish light building maintenance repair.
Licensures, Certifications
- Valid State of Maryland First Grade license.
- Valid State of Maryland drivers license.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to stoop, balance, climb, kneel and crouch to gain access to systems.
Working Conditions
- Regular exposure to bright light, extreme temperatures, noise and vibration of operating equipment for up to eighty percent of work time.
- Exposure to heights and heating and cooling equipment.
- Exposure to electrical systems.
