The Electrical Engineer will work in a dynamic, rapid prototyping
environment with exposure to many systems and technologies.
Particular areas of focus are system architecture, electronic
circuit design, rapid prototyping, and IR&D efforts. Other
projects will be assigned based on program requirements. Key
Responsibilities: Conceptualize, research technology and
components, architect, design, develop, and optimize low SWaP-C
circuitry and systems. Collaborate with mechanical, software,
firmware, and manufacturing engineers to ensure cohesive product
development. Review and validate electrical schematics and PCB
layouts for DfX, signal integrity, environmental, and EMI/EMC
performance. Support bring-up, debugging, testing, and validation
of prototype electrical systems and circuits. Interface with
vendors and manufacturers to manage component selection and
qualification as well as PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
Lead and mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on
PCB design best practices. Conduct design reviews and participate
in peer reviews of schematics and layout. Maintain design
documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and industry
standards (e.g., IPC, UL, CE, RoHS). Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a
related field. 7 years of experience in complex low-SWaP electrical
circuit design – power, processors, sensors, wired/wireless comms,
etc. Proficient with circuit and PCB design tools – TAG is an
Altium house Knowledge of hardware communication standards, e.g.
UART, RS232, RS422, RS485, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, USB, MIPI, LVDS,
etc. Ability to troubleshoot and debug hardware using lab tools
(oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, VMAs, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, project
management and organizational skills. Bonus Points: Signal
processing, FPGA, and low-power RF circuit design and development
Familiar with the manufacturing process – PCB fabrication, SMT
assembly flow, automated test processes, etc. Ability to lead and
influence cross-functional teams Mentorship and coaching mindset
