Job Description:
Position Description: The Senior Maintenance & Data SME is the
program's “maintenance guru” — the individual who understands the
operational maintenance environment at the senior leader level, the
data that drives maintenance decisions, and how to translate raw
CAN bus and diagnostic data into actionable maintenance
intelligence. This role bridges the gap between the technical data
science team and the Marines who turn wrenches. This individual
defines the queries, validates the visualizations, and ensures that
every dashboard output maps to real-world maintenance actions.
Drawing from deep experience in military vehicle maintenance
operations at the senior leadership level (analogous to a
Production Control Chief or Maintenance Officer function), this
individual provides the authoritative maintenance domain expertise
for the entire program. This role ensures accountability in the
human-data interaction chain and mentors the Jr Maintenance SME &
Information Specialist. This position is located onsite in
Quantico, VA. Your future duties and responsibilities: Serve as the
senior maintenance domain authority for the program, ensuring all
analytics outputs are operationally valid and actionable Define and
validate the master set of maintenance data queries that drive
dashboards and predictive maintenance alerts Translate operational
maintenance requirements into data requirements for the AI/ML and
visualization teams Develop and refine fault code interpretation
guides that link CAN bus diagnostic data to Technical Manual work
packages and maintenance actions Review and validate AI/ML model
outputs for operational relevance — ensuring predictions map to
maintainer-executable actions Develop the programdata
decision-making framework including threshold definitions, alert
criteria, and escalation protocols Interface with senior Marine
Corps maintenance leadership, unit maintenance officers, and SYSCOM
stakeholders to validate program capability alignment with
operational doctrine Provide maintenance domain expertise for
training curriculum development, ensuring FSRs and Marine
maintainers understand how to act on program data Support
Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis and Condition Based
Assessment (CBA) review processes as defined in MCO 4151.22 Advise
on data logger placement optimization based on maintenance-critical
subsystems across target platforms (MTVR, JLTV, LVSR, MCT, TRAM,
Excavator) Mentor and guide the Jr Maintenance Functional SME &
Information Specialist in maintenance data interpretation and
visualization validation Required qualifications to be successful
in this role: 12 years of hands-on military ground vehicle
maintenance experience spanning organizational, intermediate, and
depot levels Senior leadership experience in maintenance
management, production control, or maintenance operations (E8 NCO,
CW3 Warrant Officer, or O4 Officer equivalent) Deep knowledge of
USMC or Army maintenance management processes, production control
workflows, and maintenance reporting systems Experience with fault
diagnostics, vehicle electronic systems, and CAN bus / J1939 /
J1708 protocols Familiarity with GCSS-MC, EMSS, or equivalent
maintenance management information systems Understanding of
maintenance-related data — fault codes, operating parameters, fluid
analysis results, and equipment condition indicators Active Secret
clearance Preferred Qualifications Former USMC Motor Transport (MOS
3521/3529) or Ordnance Maintenance (MOS 2146/2147) senior SNCO or
Warrant Officer Former Army 91-series senior NCO or Maintenance
Warrant Officer with production control and fleet management
experience Prior involvement in predictive maintenance pilot
programs within DoD Experience developing maintenance SOPs, TTPs,
or decision support tools at the organizational or enterprise level
Familiarity with EFAS (Expeditionary Fluid Analysis System) and oil
analysis programs Experience briefing senior military leadership on
maintenance readiness and equipment status CGI is required by law
in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the
compensation range for this role. The determination of this range
includes various factors not limited to skill set, level,
experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To
support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI
typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range
for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts
and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the
current range for this role in the U.S. is $70,800.00 -
