GENERAL SUMMARY: The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for setting the strategic roadmap for new program introductions and for enhancements to existing programs for the vertical to ensure revenue goals and budgets are met. He/she will evaluate program performance to diagnose problem areas, propose solutions and oversee their implementation. A successful Senior Product Manager will be able to maintain both a high level and detailed understanding of the intricacies of each program under his/her management. He/she is a highly professional individual with strong leadership qualities who demonstrates the ability to communicate cross-functionally and interpersonally with a wide range of stakeholders and can grasp differing viewpoints clearly. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Take a leadership role in developing the strategic roadmap for new program introductions for the vertical and its institutions; facilitate the prioritization and completion of projects with internal and external stakeholdersChampion the new program management process for the vertical and its institutions; develop clear, actionable plans to facilitate the launch of new programs or initiatives Lead the operationalization, execution and training associated with the launch of new products, partnerships, and academic initiatives from conception to start date by closely collaborating with academic leadership, operations, marketing, sales, research, regulatory, product development, and other departmentsProactively identify opportunities to improve existing program performance using both internal data on program performance (such as course evaluations and retention) and external data on market opportunities (such as competitive intelligence and industry characteristics). Prepare and present recommendations to senior leadershipCollaborate cross-functionally with various departments to ensure implementation and execution of program and course changes, upgrades, modality changes, new requirements, and enhancementsDevelop a deep understanding of individuals seeking degrees. Understanding includes, but is not limited to:Competitive marketplaceTarget market understanding of:Education requirementsDecision-making process and criteriaInformation absorption/processing preferencesCommunication style and needsTarget market career needsIndustry characteristics and expectations concerning education & professional developmentIdentify, recommend, and develop potential market opportunities based on the above criteriaCollaborate with product development in concept phase of new product development process and champion ideas through the processBased on market understanding, collaborate with Marketing and Enrollment colleagues to develop effective communications strategies to influence their decisions regarding educational advancement opportunitiesResponsible for developing annual budgets and long-term plans in collaboration with college leadershipCollaborate with Market Research and Insights team to articulate high-level strategic questions to help guide the data collection and reporting process; to develop and coordinate market research and segmentation activities including focus groups, surveys, customer interviews and preliminary researchLead the process to respond to competitive and market trend analyses, ensuring that strategic decisions are data drivenEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree; MBA strongly preferred10+ years of product management or related experience, with deep industry knowledge of the higher education space Proficient in financial and business analysis and data miningSkilled in planning, organizing, and project management; ability to manage multiple, competing prioritiesSkilled in budget development and managementAbility to drive the product management process with diplomacy and enthusiasmAdvanced critical thinking, analysis, and synthesis skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite with particular aptitude in ExcelMust thrive under pressure and in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with tight deadlines and multiple prioritiesExperience working in a global environment with diverse functional and business units in large, matrixed project teamsTravel 10-15% of the timeAbility to transport laptop computer during travel
