The Salisbury-Rowan Community Action Agency, Inc. is proud of its diverse workforce and employs over 300 individuals engaged in various exciting professional, administrative, clerical, skilled and general labor and trades work. The agency has a 15-member board of directors and the Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization. The--agency has six departments responsible for delivery services to the community; Head Start, Finance, Human Resources, Family Services, Career Training & Education Services and Facilities. Board of Director Membership Duty Description Purpose Petition for members of the private sector passionate about joining the fight against poverty The Salisbury-Rowan Community Action Agency, Inc. is now accepting applications for private sector governing board members, whose roles are to reflect and involve key interests and resources within the community to guide agency actions and outcomes. The agency is seeking members with the following experience: -- Special Events (planning & implementation) -- Communications, Public & Media Relations Board of Directors Description: The Salisbury-Rowan Community Action Agency, Inc. is governed by a fifteen (15) member tri-partite Board of Directors. The tri-partite composition of membership provides for the actual problems experienced by the poor to be voiced by their representatives and responded to by the representatives of the business and local government. -- One-third of the board is elected public officials or their representatives. -- One-third is representatives of business, industry, labor, religion, education or other major groups and interests in the community. -- One-third is individuals that are democratically selected to represent the poor in the area served. Business must be located within the agency's service areas of Rowan, Cabarrus and Davidson counties (North Carolina).
