centers, is looking for a Compliance Manager to join our Legal team
as we continue to expand and grow nationwide. If you are looking

you.The Compliance Manager promotes and protects brand equity, and
supports best in class operations, by effectively monitoring and
managing franchise agreement compliance, including insurance,
financial reporting, health and safety practices, as well as other
system standards. The position is primarily responsible for
routinely monitoring, analyzing, and formulating strategies to
ensure execution of key franchisee accountabilities, and managing
documentation of various franchise agreement transactions and
processes. The position serves as an important liaison among the
Operations, Accounting, and Development departments in building
relationships and procedures to facilitate effective business
process management.
This position reports directly to the General Counsel and is based
in our corporate office located in Abingdon, Maryland. It is
classified as Exempt and designated as Corporate Staff for vacation
award purposes.
About this role:
- Primary responsibility for management and implementation of
insurance compliance program and processes to include:
- Review all franchisee insurance coverages for compliance with
requirements
- Consult with various stakeholders, including Accounting,
Operations, and Real Estate and Construction Departments to ensure
that franchisees are compliant with all insurance related
obligations
- Work with franchisees, brokers and carriers to achieve
compliance
- Continually evaluate sufficiency of Company mandated franchisee
insurance requirements
- Secondary responsibility for development and maintenance of
franchise compliance documents and processes to include:
- Defaults; terminations; expiration notices; as well as various
addenda
- Final review of franchise agreements, addenda, amendments prior
to execution
- In collaboration with the Operations and Accounting Departments
to identify and contact all franchisees that meet the criteria on a
daily/weekly/monthly basis to resolve compliance issues. This
includes collecting missing reports and other submittals, issuing
and escalating notices up to and including default (if
necessary)
- Develop strong relationships to foster an advisory and/or
collaborative approach to achieving franchisee compliance.
- Research, resolve, and respond to internal and external
questions/issues relative to franchisee contract compliance
concerns including but not limited to Academy Action Plans.
- Lead and facilitate monthly compliance meetings with various
stakeholders.
- Review and analyze franchise agreements and identify/understand
franchisee contractual obligations.
- Communicate compliance issues to the appropriate parties,
including leadership; produce and maintain various reports that
track and analyze compliance activities.
About you:To be successful in this position, we are seeking
candidates who have:
- Bachelors degree in business or related field with compliance
experience/contract administration
- Experience in the franchise field highly preferred
- 3 5 years business experience
- Process driven but creative and innovative
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to
achieve business objectives while minimizing legal risks
- Ability to multi-task, understand and meet deadlines, work
independently, and interact with all levels of staff and
management
- Strong professional verbal and written communication skills are
critical, including the ability to interact effectively with people
at all levels of the organization
- Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
and Adobe Acrobat
- Minimal travel required
