We are seeking a highly motivated hire to manage all aspects of
NextCure's product development projects. While working in a matrix

Research, Clinical, and Business functional units to drive project

Responsibilities
Lead Early Development & Biomarker team to develop and implement
translational strategies to achieve project-specific goals and
objectives for investigational therapeutics in product
pipeline.
Deliver translational science strategy for pre-clinical therapies,
including measuring target engagement and pharmacodynamic
biomarkers reproducibly and quantifiably to inform and support
clinical decisions for selecting therapeutically relevant doses and
schedules.
Drive understanding of key cancer pathway interactions, feedback
mechanisms, immunological activity, and features of tumor
microenvironment in clinical samples to guide rational drug
combinations.
Lead external collaborations with partner companies and academic
medical institutions to further evaluate therapeutic activity of
our novel compounds and refine understanding of their MOA.
Lead in the authoring, coordination and preparation of the
translational medicine and mechanistic content of study reports,
regulatory filings, project presentations and publications where
appropriate.
Provide high-level updates and advice to senior management,
including evaluation and interpretation of study data and their
potential impact on drug programs and clinical/regulatory
strategy.
Build and advance early discovery candidates by leading
translational development and in vivo modeling as well as
leveraging patients' samples to inform target and drug biology and
support clinical development strategy.
Participate in business development meetings, due diligence
sessions as needed.
Support cross-functional drug development teams.
Engage in special, value-added projects.
Basic Requirements
PhD and/or MD with experience in drug development.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
In-depth knowledge of oncology disease area biology (solid tumors)
and translational science and solid understanding of
immunology.
Required Qualifications
Proven track record in planning and executing preclinical/early
clinical and late-stage projects.
Ability to drive, manage, execute, and deliver results for complex
multi-functional projects.
Working knowledge of product development.
Highly developed problem solving and risk management skills, and
attention to detail.
Highly developed collaborative working skills.
Ability to act as an external ambassador and to influence external
organizations.
Proven ability to motivate and develop others.
Organized, results-oriented, and proactive and strategic
thinker.
Ability to lead and achieve results by influence alone.
Strong knowledge of the key business drivers and considerations in
the biotech, pharmaceutical, and /or life science industries.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication skills written and verbal including
presentation skills.
