Job Description:

The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talent strategy.

Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
Administration and execution of company insurance policies.
Co-manages client complaints from various websites such as BBB.
Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes full-cycle recruitment.
Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Company and association payrolls
Benefits administration including the renewal process.
On-boarding/Orientation for new employees.
Manages and executes company events.
HRIS System management.
Maintains compliant employee records.
Develops and implements process and procedures that support an inclusive environment


Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
A minimum of 7 years of HR management or generalist experience in a fast paced office
Strong leadership and people skills required
Ability to analyze, evaluate and act on issues and/or problems, reach sound conclusions and take appropriate action
Experience with HRIS systems and Payroll processing-Paylocity, a plus
Experience in benefits management: Renewals, Open Enrollment, etc.

Position experiences interruptions; need for frequent shifting priorities, and deadlines
This position works under usual office conditions
Required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time
Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb for possible extended periods of time
Must be able lift a minimum of 25lbs
Must be willing to travel to all Tidewater locations (MD, DE)PI192282659
