We are rapidly growing, and this is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate. The Role: The Development Manager will oversee a portfolio of development projects. Considerable candidates for this opportunity must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. This role will report to the Vice President of Construction and Development and work in office at the corporate headquarters in York, PA. The ideal candidate will have a background in self-storage.Requirements: Manage the development process for projects through entitlement, construction and close out.Lead the entitlement process on assigned projects.Hire and manage the design teams for assigned projects.Negotiate contracts with external vendors.Hire and manage the general construction firms on assigned projects.Lead weekly design team meetings along with attending weekly construction meetings.Attending township/municipal review meetings, often occurring in the evening, and present plan reviews as needed.Create job schedules to include milestones on assigned projects.Attend essential job site meetings during the construction phase.Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments.Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports and timelines. Qualifications:Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in real estate development/project management.Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Project Management, Real Estate development, construction, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.Entitlement process experience.Expertise in project management principles.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.A team player with leadership abilities.Land Development experience. Physical Requirements:Ability to travel to job sites and inspect them by traversing the site.Ability to work in an office setting and outside at job sites in varying conditions.Sitting for long periods of time, standing, lifting up to 50lbs and complete data entry in a repetitive motion.
