Job Description:
Overview McCormick Taylor is seeking a Site Civil Professional
Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our
Energy/Utilities group. The successful candidate will perform the
role of a Project Manager. We are seeking an individual who can
lead a small team to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and
work well in a hybrid office environment. Strong written,
interpersonal, and oral communication skills, attention to detail
and ability to organize is required. Previous experience
collaborating with team members virtually is preferred. Note that
this position is primarily remote, but the candidate will be
expected to report to McCormick Taylor's office on an occasional
basis in one of the following locations: Baltimore, MD; Newark, DE;
Philadelphia, PA; Salisbury, MD; Mount Laurel, NJ. The candidate
will be responsible for leading civil design and permitting efforts
for energy projects within the Mid-Atlantic region including the
design of erosion and sediment control, grading, stormwater
management drainage, and associated civil elements. Experience in
Site Design, Water Resources, Erosion & Sediment Control, etc., is
preferred. Previous experience with Electric/Gas Utilities and
permitting experience is a plus. Experience providing oversight of
construction projects is not required but preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Enthusiastic and dependable leader with a passion for

- Attends project meetings and supports presentations on specific
projects/concepts
- With supervision, reviews and approves scopes, budgets, and
schedules for assignments
- Responsible for technical accuracy and QA/QC of work
- Manages moderate to small projects and/or larger tasks of a
project
- Manages and mentors a small number of staff (1 - 3)
- Developing experience in project management
- Assists in preparing proposals to provide professional services
or obtain funding for assignments
- Working towards being able to receive general direction on key
objectives and is capable of scoping, costing completing
projects
- Developing knowledge in contract management, invoicing, status
reports, accounts receivable, and related accounting needs Leads
civil design efforts for various electrical substation,
distribution, and transmission projects
- Leads the design of Erosion and Sediment Control Plans for
linear utility and transportation projects.
- Leads the design of Site Plans to include Grading, Storm Water
Management features, and Access Roads.
- Perform site development design plan review, including
constructability, drainage, grading and utility coordination.
- Utilize CADD (Bentley Microstation), ArcGIS, and Microsoft
Office for project data collection, analysis, and reporting. JOB
REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. of Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 8 - 15 years of experience preferred.
- Technical and field experience preferred in civil
infrastructure preferred (utility, transmission, substation,
transit, roadway, bridge)
- Knowledge of local environmental regulations is preferred
(Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey)
- Technical writing skills preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability
to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
- Strong interest and ability to mentor and teach others about
their respective discipline
- Ability to understand, interpret, and develop site plans and
permits
- Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple concurrent
