Job Description:
Seeking experienced Safety and Training Compliance Manager for a
great opportunity with a growing, private, healthcare textile
services company in Baltimore!The goal of this management position
is to establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and
foster a culture of attention to health and safety. The manager
provides technical safety to support company-wide initiatives as
follows:Planning, developing, and implementing safety policies,
programs, and procedures, in compliance with local, state, and
federal rules and regulations including those administered by the
OSHA and EAP and DOT.Create and conduct safety training
programs.Monitor safety and health regulations and provide
technical support to all personnel to ensure compliance.The manager
must be able to perform the essential functions of the position and
the requirements to ensure success are listed below:Collaborate
with management and organizational partners to develop, prepare,
and implement safety policies and procedures in the company
according to legal and company guidelines.Prepare and enforce
safety programs and policies to establish a culture of health and
safety.Evaluate practices and procedures within the company to
assess and mitigate risk within the guidelines of the law.Inspect
equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe
conditions.Identify company safety training needs, develop safety
training programs, and conduct training presentations.Promote
safety awareness and chair the safety committee.Prepare, implement
and maintain hazard communication program.Ensure compliance with
local, state, and federal safety regulations and monitor regulatory
changes as they occur. Advise and provide technical support to all
departments of regulatory changes for company compliance.Audit
safety practices of all departments and perform safety inspections
to ensure compliance with company programs, local, state, federal
occupational health and safety regulations.Conduct post accident
investigations and prepare reports to identify accident causes and
develop measures to prevent recurrences.Monitor the workplace for
potential future safety and health conditions to ensure hazards are
corrected, eliminated, or guarded. Identify and implement
opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents and health
problems.Ensure durable, clear, and effective signage and labeling
is used throughout company.This position has no direct supervisory
responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor to all
departments.Must have extensive knowledge of current company safety
policies and applicable OSHA standards. Extensive knowledge of
legislation (e.g., OSHSA/EPA/DOT) and procedures as well as
potentially hazardous materials and practices.Must have at least
five (5) years recent and proven safety management experience in a
laundry or industrial
environment.Education/Certifications/Licenses:HLAC
Required.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) a plus.Bachelor's
degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental
Health, or related field preferred.Skills/Abilities:Ability to
effectively communicate and respond to questions in personal and
group situations.Effective conflict management skills and the
ability to persuade and influence others.Analytical and problem
solving skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in using a
variety of computer software applications, specifically Microsoft
Office Suite.Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not
required.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:Ability to
travel throughout facility and between operational locations -
travel is primarily local and during the business day. Operational
facilities may have moving mechanical parts, variations in
temperature and loud noise.While performing the job, the employee
is required to talk, listen, stand, walk, use hands and reach with
hands and arms. Occasionally may be required to sit, climb,
balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Must frequently lift and
move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25
pounds.Visual acuity includes close vision, distance vision, color
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.We
