(BWI East, AMEC)

    The 1st Shift General Manufacturing Manager 2 is responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 20-30 represented (union) employees and processes in a Manufacturing environment. You will work independently across organizations; manage the use of consumables to achieve budget targets; assign and manage represented IBEW operators to maximize efficiency and achieve target productive yields; implement our process improvements to improve affordability, quality, and schedule; and perform required SAP/CATS/Workday transactions to manage the operators.The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills and ability, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. What You'll get to Do: Direct and coordinate the activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules, in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning, to meet production/delivery requirementsOversees the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that equipment, materials, and services are available, as neededAssigns and manage staff to maximize efficiency and achieve schedule and target productive yieldsPerforms require SAP/CATS/Workday transactions to manage personnel, planning and financialsProvides specific direction and training, as requiredEnsures 5S practices within cell areasUtilizes both internal and external resources, and coordinates cell and functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, transportation, etcCollaborate with other managers in the AMEC cell for work coming and goingCollaborate with engineering and quality to correct issues quickly and/or improve efficiencies in the Flux and Coating area of AMEC Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 7 years of relevant experience; PhD with 4 years of relevant experience (Note, 13+ years of work/supervisory experience may be considered in lieu of degree)Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a Manufacturing, Production or Engineering environment Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or other STEM areaBackground in manufacturing or a related fieldExperience working with PWB manufacturing equipment and processesPrior experience working in a represented (union) environmentExperience with SAP/MESLean Manufacturing ExperienceU.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance As a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including: - 401k Educational Assistance Life Insurance Employee Assistance Programs & Work/Life Solutions Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
