This fund has over $100m of assets under management.Why join us?Competitive Base & BonusPTOMedical/Dental BenefitsPTOJob DetailsJob Details:We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced, and dynamic Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to join our team. This role is pivotal to our company, as the CLO will be responsible for managing all legal matters, ensuring our company operates within the law at all times, and offering counsel to management on legal issues and business strategies. With your extensive experience in technology companies, government contracting, commercial contract drafting and negotiation, software product development and licensing, you will play a key role in our organization's legal framework.Responsibilities:As the Chief Legal Officer, you will be tasked with:1. Providing expert and strategic legal advice to the board of directors and management.2. Setting internal governance policies and managing the impact of external factors.3. Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial contracts, including contracts related to software product development and licensing.4. Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations in all jurisdictions in which the company operates, particularly in India and the US.5. Overseeing and managing all legal aspects of the company's M&A transactions, including sell-side transactions.6. Navigating complex business matters and managing company litigation.7. Working with government contracting and higher education contracting.8. Managing the legal implications of the company's SaaS offerings and onshore/offshore operations.9. Interacting with relevant departments to ensure that the company is in compliance with all current laws and regulations.10. Developing and leading the internal legal team.Qualifications:The ideal candidate for the Chief Legal Officer role should possess the following qualifications:1. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.2. A minimum of 10 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, ideally with significant in-house experience in the technology sector.3. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the technology industry, including experience with technology companies, software product development, and licensing.4. Proven experience in government contracting, higher education contracting, and commercial contract drafting and negotiation.5. Strong experience in managing legal and compliance issues in international business, particularly in the US and India.6. Demonstrable background in managing legal aspects of SaaS products and onshore/offshore operations.7. Experience in sell-side transactions and successful exits.8. Exceptional negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the company's interests effectively.9. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop and lead a high-performing legal team.10. Excellent judgment and ability to understand and manage business risks.11.
