The MTA is one of the largest transit systems in the United States
and is seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join the MTA
team.
DESCRIPTION
The Director of Organizational Development will build the program
and lead a team that will focus on the following areas: Strategic
thinking and planning, talent pipeline development to serve the
long-term needs of the organization, implement the emerging
leadership program, develop and implement the apprenticeship
programs in skilled trades and operations positions, develop and
implement leadership development programs that include coaching,
and program curricula development.
The Director is expected to use creative and innovative ideas to
facilitate development programs and solutions that will also
improve process efficiency in all business practices.
Organizational development programs would encompass leadership
development, succession planning, career pathing, competency
profile management, performance management, and apprenticeship
programs. The position will interact with all levels of employees
while assessing planning needs and implementing strategic
activities.
Additionally, the Director works with cross-functional stakeholders
to identify needs and develop business cases and participates in
change management planning. This role will also be a significant
contributor to the development of MTA's organization and
culture.
Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or
university. A graduate degree in a related field is preferred.
Experience: Six years of experience in administrative or
professional work. Two years of this experience must have involved
one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees,
overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit,
applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility for
the development of policies or procedures. A certificate in
organizational development a plus.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative, organizational
development or professional work may be substituted on a
year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate-level education at an accredited college or
university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit
hours on a year-to-year basis for the required general
experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service
experience involving staff work related to the administration of
rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or
overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a
staff assistant on a year-for-year basis for the required education
and experience.
Licenses & Certifications
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which
require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such
duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's
license valid in the State of Maryland.
