TITLE: Director of Residential LifeRemote Type: On Campus LOCATION: Goucher College CampusTIME TYPE: Full time POSTED DATE: Posted 30+ Days Ago REQ ID:R-0000000326Job Description:Job Description: Reporting to the vice president for student affairs and serving as a member of the student affairs leadership team, the Director of Residential Life is a professional-level, full-time, live-adjacent in college-owned house, 12-month position within the Department of Residential Life. The Director of Residential Life is responsible for establishing and executing the department's goals, developing departmental systems, and managing staff in support of the that supports residential student success through education, engagement and exploration.Essential Job Functions:25% Student Well-being: Activitely engages and provides interventions with students. Serves on college-wide CARE team, participates in regular professional staff on-call rotation, provides crisis intervention, and serve as a resource or referral agent on various committees. Understands and enforces code of student conduct and other policies regarding behavior, safety, security, health, and other matters in cooperation. Serves as a campus judicial hearing officer. 25 % Student Support and Engagement: Formulate, recommend, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, programs, processes, and systems to ensure high quality student-centered services.20% Supervision: Supervises the associate director for residential life, the assistant director for housing operations, and three residence life coordinators. In being accessible and responsive, the director will consistently provide training,coaching, and feedback to all residential staff in operational efforts. 20% Operations Management: Collaboratively works with facilities, finance, campus safety, and other departments on all operational matters related to campus residences for students including crisis response, facilities management, revenue generation. Education:Required: A master's degree in higher education administration, counseling, psychology, social work, or closely related field. Professional Experience:Required:

  • 5 years of increasingly responsible positions within residential life and housing including supervision of multiple full-time professionals.
  • Significant experience in college student development, crisis management, strategic planning, management, and assessment.
  • Demonstrated personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. Preferred:
    • 1 year working at a director or equivalent level in housing operations and/or residential life.
    • Experience with departmental training, vision and development of student experiences, assessment, goal setting and accomplishment, collaboration with offices across campus, advising student organizations, and experience with occupancy managementCollege owned housing is provided.Salary Range: $67,816.00 -$81,000PM21Job Category:StaffApplication Instructions:Consideration of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
