Located on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore, MRAS has a 1.7-million sq. ft. facility situated on 180 acres - where the company and its predecessors have designed, built and equipped civil and military aircraft for over 90 years. In 2019, MRAS was acquired by ST Engineering North America, the U.S. affiliate of Singapore-based ST Engineering - becoming a part of its global network of aerospace facilities and offices. With the ownership change, the company was renamed Middle River Aerostructure Systems. Role Summary:Under the direction of the EHS and Human Resource Managers, work closely with medical team, security, manufacturing operations, and leadership teams to accomplish goals associated with any type of leave that employees may have or something that may impact leaves. Act as a liaison between employees, legal representatives, case adjusters, medical professionals, and insurance carriers. Work directly with hourly and salary employees as well as managers for these employees. Essential Responsibilities:--- Responsible for all tracking, follow-up, and assisting employees with filing all leaves including ADA, STD/LTD, FMLA + Intermittent, Work Comp, Middle River LOA and referrals.--- Coordinate Paternal Leave, Educational, Military, etc.--- Understand guides of job ergonomic assessment documents to manage all restrictions, short term accommodations, and permanent restrictions. Work with insurance carriers on all Independent Medical Exam communications. --- Work with MRAS legal representation and coordinate all hearing representation.--- Assist human resources with attendance tracking based on leave reports.--- Lead the active leave report and keep up to date badge Activation/Deactivation--- Act as the FAA Drug & Alcohol (DER) Designated employer representative for DOT drug pool--- Work with human resources on implementation of new leave benefits carrierRequirements--- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Human Resources, Medial or Safety related field plus 1-3 years of experience. Combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience in Human Resources and/or medical field is a plus.--- Knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) standards--- Strong technical background. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite tools.--- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, including union members and upper management.--- Physical demands of walking, climbing stairs. Minimal lifting will be required. Desired Characteristics:--- Experience with Job Assessments and Functional Capacity--- Strong oral, written communication, and conflict resolution skills.
