MWCOG is seeking a leader who will attract and build workforce
training programs across multiple local jurisdictions. The Program
Manager of Workforce Innovation will work with MWCOG leadership and
communications to brand, market, and position MWCOG as the regional
leader in workforce innovation, starting with technology-centric
cadet training programs for local governments in the NCR.Job

TechnologyDescription:MWCOG is seeking a leader who will attract
and build workforce training programs across multiple local
jurisdictions. The Program Manager of Workforce Innovation will
work with MWCOG leadership and communications to brand, market, and
position MWCOG as the regional leader in workforce innovation,
starting with technology-centric cadet training programs for local
governments in the NCR.EXAMPLES OF WORK:
- Work with MWCOG leadership to develop innovative workforce
programs to increase employment, collaboration, and security within
the NCR (National Capital Region).
- Provide input to MWCOG on branding and promotion of innovative
workforce programs.
- Cultivate strong relationships with leaders in every NCR
jurisdiction with particular emphasis on MWCOG's ability to build a
qualified, abundant, renewable regional workforce.
- Oversee Workforce leadership and ensure high employee morale
and engagement within the Workforce team.
- Work with MWCOG leadership to create workforce programs that
address the region's most critical needs.
- Cultivate relationships with industry leaders to gain their
support for MWCOG workforce programs, to enlist a strong and
diverse set of guest speakers, field trip hosts, supporters, and
subscribers.
- Build relationships with private industry prospects to engage
them as subscribers to MWCOG workforce offerings.
- Ensure workforce programs provide net positive income to
MWCOG.Required Qualifications:Key Attributes
- Experience promoting and building workforce programs within
several technology domains across disparate regions and
industries.
- Experience leading and growing business units.
- Experience selling solutions to government agencies and private
industry.
- Track record of inspiring teams to achieve extraordinary
results with innovative missions.
- Experience with bottom-line accountability including making
executive decisions required to balance budgets.
- Flexibility to make frequent in-person visits to projects and
stakeholders at disparate sites across the NCR (National Capital
Region).Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesTo perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

combination of education and professional experience in other human
resources areas.Bachelor's degree in human resources, personnel
administration, business, public administration, or a related field
required.Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of
modern human resources management, including techniques of
recruiting, selection and placement; thorough understanding of
position classification principles, plans and methodology; ability
to design and carry out innovative personnel management concepts
and ideas; commitment to equal employment, affirmative action and
upward mobility principles; good knowledge of employment law,
ability to keep abreast of changing laws; good knowledge and
principles of organization and management.Computer Knowledge and
SkillsProficiency and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet,
presentation, human resources information systems ADP and
Costpoint, Internet, and desktop publishing software
necessary.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMay directly supervise the
Senior Planner of Workforce Programs. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and
applicable laws.Communication SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and
interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write
reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to
effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and effective manner,
both orally and in writing.Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate
figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, etc.
Ability to apply statistical concepts.Reasoning AbilityAbility to
interpret personnel policies and practices and make appropriate
decisions; good judgment, initiative, ability to maintain
