Job Description:

Relational Data Systems is a subsidiary of Land Services SA, providing technology consulting, software implementation, support, enhancement, and hosting services for highly visible, business-critical systems of record. Our staff are located across Australia, serving various Australian State and Territory Governments. RDS's core capabilities include:

  • Business Analysis: collaborating with partners to formulate business requirements based on business or regulatory needs.
  • Solution Architecture: translating business requirements into functional and non-functional system requirements.
  • Technical Architecture: developing resilient, secure, extensible, and performant architectural frameworks to support system delivery.
  • Software Engineering: building high-quality, valuable solutions using industry best-practice frameworks, particularly the Java/Spring stack.

  • Service Delivery: implementing and supporting business-critical software systems in accordance with procedures and SLAs.
  • System Administration: maintaining infrastructure, especially on Linux and AWS systems, to ensure system uptime.

    About the position
    This role involves managing all phases of a project from inception to completion, including design, planning, execution, control, and review.
    The Project Manager reports to the Senior Project Manager and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering IT solutions on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The position is within the ICT team in a Project Management Office (PMO).

  • Managing goals, objectives, and priorities of assigned projects, including client engagement and internal change initiatives.
  • Resolving complex issues with innovative solutions aligned with project and business objectives.
  • Applying organizational project methodologies, including agile and hybrid approaches.
  • Providing expert advice to senior management on relevant developments and their implications.
  • Contributing to high customer service standards, quality management, and risk mitigation.
  • Managing project resources and suppliers efficiently to deliver projects effectively.

    Special Conditions and Essential Requirements

    • Experience in traditional and agile project management methodologies.
    • Experience managing software development projects.
    • Willingness to work outside normal hours occasionally.
    • Interstate/intrastate travel may be required.
