JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Division SVP of HR, this position will be responsible to manage and execute all HR programs and activities for Ultra Electronics Herley. The position will be responsible for managing a staff of 3 and will be located in our Lancaster, PA office while requiring collaboration with senior leaders and management teams in two additional office locations (Whippany, NJ and Woburn, MA). The position will have a dotted line reporting to the President and be a member of the senior management team.

* Work closely with senior leaders, managers, and HR COE s in areas of organizational strategy, talent management, compensation planning, performance management, recruitment, and employee engagement and retention.

* Act as primary liaison for Employee Relations to remedy employee issues, investigate and resolve workplace concerns and work with legal counsel when necessary. This position may be called upon to assist and oversee Employee Relations for other businesses in the US within Ultra Electronics.

* Responsible for HR strategy and budget including creation, presentation to executive management and execution upon approval.

* Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local legal requirements for existing and new legislation, enforce adherence and advise management to ensure company compliance.

* Provide training and development required to support HR and the business strategy.

* Manage HR data and ensure availability for federal and state reports, executive management teams, and corporate reporting

* Be proactive with recruiting process and understand competition for staffing in all areas and locations and work with COE s to create competitive and strategic recruiting techniques

* Provide leadership to Human Resources staff

REQUIRED SKILLS:

* Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.

* Bachelor s degree in HR or related field

* SPHR/PHR and/or SHRM-SCP/PC certification

* 10+ years in an HR leadership role

* Ability to travel to other offices (NJ, MA) as needed (approximately 30%) with occasional travel to other business locations in the US and UK

DESIRED SKILLS:

* Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience managing employee relations including investigations. Understanding of employee relations laws in other states throughout US

* Willing to quickly develop strong relationships and earn trust of the internal teams

* Possess strong coaching skills with ability to coach all levels within the organization

* Strong analytical skills with regard to HR data interpretation and presentation

* Solid knowledge of employee engagement, employment law, performance management, recruiting, compensation, benefits and wellness programs required

* Strong presentation and group facilitation skills required

* Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office and HRIS systems is required; knowledge of Workday preferred

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Work experience within a government contracting environment is a plus
