Friends House Retirement Community (FHRC) is seeking an experienced Health Care Administrator to lead the 82-beds Health Care Center (currently five-star rated!) and 21-beds Assisted Living. The Administrator will be responsible for the overall management and performance of Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living; ensures the highest quality of resident services and care, within budgetary guidelines, while meeting, or exceeding community and facility quality and service standards.Administrator is responsible for the compliance with federal, state, local and facility policies, procedures, and regulations. Administrator is responsible for the marketing, public relations, census development and management of the Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living departments.This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Possesses broad knowledge of the theory and practice of management, preferably in the health care setting. Willingness and desire to work with elderly; knowledgeable in the aging process and the physical, psychological and social needs of the elderly. Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of mediums including strong verbal, written, and computer skills. Ability to direct resident care and services to the elderly which meets or exceeds facility quality and service standards. Ability to effectively manage and supervise a diverse employee work group. Demonstrates financial management skills; business acumen; familiarity with business practices and principles. Ability to effectively represent the facility to the community at large. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following, as additional roles and/or focus of the company changes the functions of this job will continue to grow and evolve. TYPICAL EVERYDAY DUTIESEvaluate, recommend, and develop written financial summary and analysis for FHRC. Including but not limited to projects and Strategic Planning at FHRC as directed by the Board of Directors.Ensure community is in regulatory compliance with varies governmental agencies.Also, acts as the Alternate Assisted Living Manager.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree required. Three to five years of experience as an Administrator.An active/valid NHA license in Maryland is required.The ideal candidate will be self-driven, motivated, and has worked for long-term care facilities (Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing).
