Job Description:
*The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) School of Pharmacy
has an opening for a Health Program Specialist to work with their
PATIENTS Program.*The PATIENTS Program is an interdisciplinary
research team of community partners and researchers housed within
the School of Pharmacy's department of Pharmaceutical Health
Services Research (PHSR). The PATIENTS Program works to change the
way we think about research by creating a path for health equity in
West Baltimore. The program uses development of quality measures,
assessment methods, and patient reported outcome measures. The
PATIENTS Health Program Specialist uses established principles and
best practices of program and project management to coordinate the
administration of projects and assignments within The PATIENTS
Program including planning, organizing, and evaluating project
deliverables. Established in 1841, the University of Maryland
School of Pharmacy is the fourth oldest school of pharmacy in the

*PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:* * Manages and oversees assigned projects.
Assists in the planning and implementation of new or revised
projects, procedures, practices, and organization. Manages multiple
projects simultaneously and supports senior staff in more complex
projects. * Convenes and facilitates stakeholder advisory board
meetings and provides administrative support to other committees as
needed. * Assists in planning and coordinating administrative
activities of the PATIENTS program, such as taking meeting minutes,
delivering communications with primary investigators and key
personnel, tracking milestones and deliverables. * Coordinates and
assist with completion and preparation of periodic updates, final
reports, recommendations, and other information resources for the
improvement of The PATIENTS Program and its projects. * Supports
grant writing activities. * Conducts qualitative interviews and
focus groups for PATIENTS activities. Collects, compiles, and
organizes data pertinent to various ongoing projects. Analyzes,
summarizes, and communicates this information to appropriate
officials. * Consults with project Principal Investigators (PIs),
program head, and administrative officials regarding policies,
trends, and interpretation of data and program needs. Updates The
PATIENTS Program's directors on developments and progress of
project deliverables and milestones. * Establishes effective
communication channels and acts as liaison between the program and
officials within and outside the institution. * Assists in the
delivery of results of projects, including but not limited to
presentations, website updates, blog posts, newsletter briefs, and
social media. * Prepares IRB submissions, monitors and reports on
adherences to IRB regulations, The PATIENTS Program, Department and
School policies and procedures. * Assists in the execution of
projects according to project protocols and addresses problems as
they arise. Assist with project deliverables with regards to
timeliness, budget constraints, and quality levels. * Sets
priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards
goals, and track details/data/information/activities. * Performs
other related duties as assigned. *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*
*Education:*Bachelor's degree in a health-related field. Bachelor's
or Master's degree in Business, Management, Communications, Public
Health and/or a related field preferred. *Experience:*Two (2) years
of experience in a healthcare field. Experience in program
planning, coordination, or training is required. Experience in
project management preferred. *Supervisory Experience: *N/A.
*Certification/Licensure: *Appropriate state licensure may be
required as defined based upon the nature of the program. *Other:
*Related healthcare experience to program may be substituted for
education. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:* Demonstrate time
management and project management skills. in Ability to maintain
high standards with the work being performed and maintain awareness
with trends and influences. Ability to assess situations to
determine their importance and urgency, and make clear, timely
decisions that will positively impact outcomes. Ability to present
ideas and information clearly and concisely both orally and in
writing. Ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrate
professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when
interacting with others. Capable of interacting pleasantly and
positively with other to meet customer expectations and provide
follow up with customers. *HIRING RANGE:*Commensurate with
