New Grad Registered Nurse (RN) - Trauma Operating Room
Full-Time - 2 12's 2 8's, weekend, call and holidays
Baltimore, Maryland
The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is looking for an
RN with Critical Care experience for our patients in the Shock
Trauma OR. The nursing and support staff draws from their emergency
medicine and critical care knowledge and expertise to provide
quality care to patients.
This role is designed for the clinical nurse who has at least 12
months of experience with substantial knowledge and clinical
skills. Provides and coordinates independent care to patients
within a clinical specialty as a fully capable and participative
member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team.
The Trauma Operating Room is a specialized surgical suite that
provides services to trauma patients who arrive at the R. Adams
Cowley Shock Trauma Center. The 9 operating room department offers
technologically advanced surgeries to patients undergoing an
emergent need. The staff of the Trauma OR provide care to the
critically wounded residents of the state of Maryland.
New Graduate Expectations:
* This role is reserved for the new graduate or nurse with less
than 12 months experience.
* The nurse will utilize this time to learn the institution and
nursing practice. It is expected that a nurse in this role
successfully pass the probationary period within 12 months (18
months maximum with a defined action plan developed with
manager).
* Utilizes the nursing process as the frame of reference for
practice as a professional nurse.
* Participates in activities to develop own practice, and to
support group practice goals at the unit level.
* Functions effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary health
care team.
* Is accountable to patient, family and team members for care
provided, and to the nurse manager for totality of work
performance.

Qualifications
* Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor's
degree in Nursing preferred
* Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) Registered Nursing license or
Compact State licensure
