Job Description

AECOM is seeking a senior Safety, Health & Environment Specialist located in Baltimore, Maryland. The Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will provide consulting services to an AECOM client with primarily providing environmental compliance, health and safety and construction safety.

Responsibilities:

Health and Safety support is assisting with various issues that may arise including periodic facility inspections, report QA/QC, and Corrective Action Plans (CAP).

Environmental Compliance: The primary duty is to assist AEOCM client in the administration and implementation of the environmental compliance program.

Construction Safety includes participation in the Construction activities such as health and safety plan reviews, contractor submittal reviews, and progress meeting attendance.

Provide regulatory guidance to clients and provide guidance and ability to research regulations including but not all encompassing: EPA, Maryland Department of Environment, Fire/Life Safety (NEPA), OHSA and MarylandOSHA regulations and requirements, industrial hygiene principles, and hazardous material storage.

Under minimal direction supervises personnel engaged in the ES&H functions within the company or on the same project.

Implements policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with ES&H requirements of the organization.

Supervises personnel engaged in monitoring and preventing hazards and diseases that could be present throughout the work sites.

Provides technical leadership and functional guidance to ensure regulatory standards are being enforced.

Ensures that quality control procedures are executed to monitor all aspects of regulations.

Serves in a liaison capacity with the resident contract agency representative and other various agencies engaged in promoting environmental safety and health activities.

Drafts all necessary reports to Federal, State and local agencies.

Coordinates audits of ES&H programs within the organization.

Keeps informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations. Assists in the development and conducts basic ES&H training to employees.

Communicates programs to enhance employee awareness of prevention and compliance.

May administer an ES&H program on a large, specialized, complex project or multiple projects

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS

8 years of Safety, Health & Environment experience

Preferred Qualifications:

SH&E experience with construction sites and facilities.
