Laboratory Supervisor Position Summary
The Clinical Lab Supervisor demonstrates clinical and technical expertise and is responsible for the management and supervision of the designated areas. This position requires the knowledge and skills necessary to provide direction to the department, oversee the safety of its employees, meet the regulations that are required to maintain our laboratory's certifications, and ensure there are adequate supplies, optimal specimen processing, and quality testing to meet the needs of our customers. This position requires the knowledge of lab billing guidelines and practices.
Laboratory Supervisor Position Requirements
Education

• 
  
• A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Medical Lab Scientist required with a Master's degree or Hematology/Chemistry specialty certification preferred.
  
  Experience
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Five (5) years' experience working as a technologist in a clinical laboratory.
    
    
  • 
    Three (3)- Five (5) years' experience as Senior Technologist or with comparable supervisory experience preferred.
    
    
    Laboratory Supervisor Work Schedule
    
    • 
      
    • 
      Routinely works day shift, Monday through Friday.
      
      
    • 
      May be required to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed to support services.
      
      
    • 
      Expected to work in times of staffing shortages, emergencies, disasters, and unexpected increases in workload.
      
      
    • 
      Expected to provide professional time, advice, and expertise as necessary to ensure quality laboratory service.
      
      
    • 
      May be required to be on-duty for extended periods of time during emergency situations including computer downtimes.
      
      
      Laboratory Supervisor Benefits
