Surgalign is currently recruiting a Clinical Application Specialist who will support our surgeon customers with the latest augmented reality digital surgery system and PACS integrated AI tools. This new system will use artificial intelligence algorithms to automatically segment intra-operative 3D imaging and develop a surgical plan, while its state-of-the-art augmented reality display assists spine surgeons during pedicle screw placement. Responsibilities:

  • Consult with, educate, and support spine surgeons and OR staff in the adoption of Surgalign's digital surgery portfolio, including surgical guidance and pre-operative planning.
  • Help create and manage customer support business processes that are customer-focused and patient-minded.
  • Help create and manage technical service processes such as installation, onsite HCIT / PACS / medical device integration, system repairs, spare part delivery, and performance to service contracts.
  • Work together with Surgalign sales, marketing, and medical education teams to design a class-leading customer experience.
  • Work together with R&D to organize and provide crucial customer feedback for the continuous improvement and evolution of digital surgery products.
  • Help develop specific target customer satisfaction metrics, such as utilization, happiness, NPS, response times, and minimal downtime to measure success.
  • Set an example for your team in mastery of clinical and technical knowledge, and be a resource to support key customers in the OR.
  • Support customers remotely by call or video as well as in person.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement by recommending changes to organizational processes and products
  • Attend customer individual meetings, tradeshows, internal sales meetings, and other events.
  • Perform other duties and take on responsibilities as required.
  • Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    • Demonstrated passion for advanced software technology in medicine, such as augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and robotics
    • Proven track record of clinical success and demonstrated clinical aptitude.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to quality in medical devices
    • Technical experience with medical IT systems such as PACS, EMR
      • Open-minded and embraces a diversity of people and ideas.
      • Skilled with data systems such as Office 365, Teams and Teams apps, Excel, Salesforce.com, PowerBI, and SAP.
      • Commitment to data analytics and process measurement
      • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
      • Mature judgment and excellent follow-through in all areas of responsibility.
      • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, assign priorities and ensure efforts are accomplished in a timely and efficient manner.
      • Proven ability to motivate others and coordinate efforts to ensure efficient and successful outcomes.
      • Ability to act independently on behalf of the company.
      • Ability to influence others to action, even though they don't report to them.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
      • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
        • Bachelors Degree required.
        • 2+ years of relevant experience in medical robotics, navigation, or digital surgery products. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
          • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering preferred.
            • Experience in neurosurgery, orthopedics, or spine is a plus.
            • Technical experience with Medical IT systems such as PACS and EMR preferred
            • Proven track record of clinical success and demonstrated clinical aptitude
            • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to quality in medical devices
