OverviewJoin the HJF Team!HJF is seeking a Research Nurse
Coordinator II to perform clinical research and patient treatment
in conjunction with a specified clinical research protocol. This is
one of several positions in the nursing family that includes
research nurses, RNs, and practitioners.This position will be in
support of Murtha Cancer Center Research Program's (MCCRP) Center
for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR).The Henry M. Jackson
Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a
nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We
serve military, medical, academic and government clients by
administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific
programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians
alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link
between the military medical community and its federal and private
partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow
military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their
scientific focus and accomplish their research
goals.Responsibilities
- Prepare/Organize and Run a Multidisciplinary Clinic for
Prostate Cancer patients in collaboration with other departments
and specialties.
- Educates the patients and their families on the research
protocol and what the patient responsibilities are. Interview's
patients to collect data on health history and lifestyle
practices.
- Reviews new patient records and screens patients for
eligibility for participating in research protocol.
- Administers appropriate drugs to patients as necessary. Draws
blood and obtain other specimens as required.
- Identifies problems in the research design or analysis
methodology and trends in patient reactions to treatment. Collects,
organizes, catalogs, disseminates, and maintains appropriate files
of current data.
- Maintains weekly/monthly status reports on all patients.
- Schedules all patient examinations, repeat examinations,
treatments, and laboratory tests required by the protocol.
- Adheres to legal, professional, and ethical codes with respect
to confidentiality and privacy.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or
directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and
participation in required training for role.QualificationsEducation
and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience required. 2-4 years' nursing
experience, at least 1 year in clinical research care.Licenses and
Certifications
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse
- Certified in basic cardiac life supportRequired Knowledge,
Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary for performing
research tasks and some basic clinical tasks.
- Ability to learn and become proficient in data acquisition and
clinical responsibilities related to research protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a
T3/Secret Clearance.Physical Capabilities
- Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged
periods
- Ability to climb, pull, and lift some light objects
- Operating some basic clinical tools such as Blood pressure
machine, bladder scannerWork Environment
- This position will take place primarily in a clinical
setting.
- Work schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm EST.Compensation
- The annual salaryrange for this position is $73,800-$88,000.
Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education,
