Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Outpatient Surgery - Discipline: RN - Duration: Ongoing - Shift: 8 hours, days, evenings - Employment Type: Per Diem Job Title: PRN Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Surgery Center Locations: Multiple locations across Maryland Employer: American Medical Staffing Schedule: PRN / As Needed Overview: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate PRN Registered Nurse to join our outpatient surgery center team across several Maryland locations. This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible RN looking to support high-quality perioperative care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Position Summary: The PRN RN will provide nursing care for patients before, during, and after outpatient surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a multidisciplinary clinical setting. This role supports multiple centers based on staffing needs, offering a variety of clinical experiences. Key Responsibilities: - Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments and education - Assist with surgical preparation and support the clinical team during procedures - Monitor patient status and vital signs throughout the perioperative process - Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards - Ensure safe and effective patient care, adhering to infection control and safety protocols - Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and support staff to deliver coordinated care - Float between multiple surgery center locations as needed. Qualifications: - Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland - Minimum of 1–2 years of recent experience in outpatient surgery, PACU, pre-op, ambulatory, or acute care - BLS (required) - Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills - Ability to work independently and adapt to varying facility environments - Excellent communication and patient education skills About American Medical Staffing American Medical Staffing is a staffing agency headquartered in Baltimore, MD.
