This unit cares for patients with highly complex medical needs in a fast-paced environment. Patient populations include individuals recovering from post-operative procedures, strokes, cardiac events , and those requiring ambulatory rehabilitation , as well as extensive wound care management and prevention . Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, compassionate, and age-appropriate nursing care to residents in the Subacute Rehabilitation unit. The RN functions as a clinical resource and advisor to patients and their families while collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality outcomes. This role works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and plays a critical role in managing complex clinical needs in a dynamic care environment. Essential Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents with complex medical and rehabilitation needs Perform assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient outcomes Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols Provide wound care management, prevention strategies, and documentation Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and ongoing care needs Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, infection control practices, and patient safety initiatives Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to LPNs and CNAs as appropriate Requirements Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a CCNE-accredited school preferred 1–3 years of Registered Nurse experience required; subacute, rehab, or LTC experience preferred Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) License American Heart Association BLS Certification required ACLS certification is required within one (1) year of hire.
