in Washington, Washington DC, 20007! Job Title: Registered Nurse

years of experience in ICU settings License: DC RN License required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Candidate must successfully
pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall
score of 80% and a perfect score on lethal rhythms. Pending DC
license accepted for later start dates at a lower rate, but
candidate must have DC license in hand prior to start date. Proof
of pending status must be provided at the time of submission.
Description: This position is in an Intensive Care Unit
specializing in transplant patients. The candidate will be
responsible for providing care to patients who have undergone
procedures related to organ transplants. The role involves managing
patients with multi-system organ failure and various critical
conditions. Experience with interpretation and management of
dysrhythmias is essential. Candidates should be familiar with IV
insulin protocols, GI surgery, renal failure, and other acute care
procedures. Post-operative care for neurosurgery and managing
respiratory therapies are also required. The candidate should
demonstrate competency in infection prevention and the use of
personal protective equipment. Phlebotomy and wound care skills are
necessary for this position. The candidate will be expected to
float within units of equivalent or lower levels of acuity as
required. Weekend shifts are included in the rotation. Familiarity
with charting systems such as Cerner is preferred. Charge
experience in an ICU is a plus. Assistance with special procedures
and the use of monitoring equipment will be part of the duties.
Ability to provide care for adult and geriatric populations is
essential. The unit commonly cares for patients with a variety of
complex diagnoses, including post-transplant recovery and sepsis.
Interdisciplinary support is available for patients, including
access to therapy and rapid response teams. The candidate must
adhere to all vaccination requirements set forth by the facility.
Two supervisor references are necessary upon application. 5
