Psychiatrist at Temple University Hospital provides psychiatric

Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team and help
shape the future of psychiatric services at Temple Health. The
Opportunity The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at
Temple University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Consultation
Liaison Psychiatrist to join our collaborative and mission-driven
team. This is an exciting opportunity to practice at a leading
academic medical center while contributing to innovative clinical
care, education, and research. You will provide psychiatric
consultation and follow-up for Temple University Hospital, a
979-bed, award-winning academic medical center offering a wide
range of tertiary and quaternary programs. Our CL service operates
under a traditional consult model enhanced by specialized service
lines for patients with complex psychiatric needs and embedded
services in key clinical areas. The team includes nationally
recognized board-certified faculty, PGY2 and PGY4 psychiatry
residents, and 3rd- and 4th-year medical students, with additional
rotations from other specialties. Beyond inpatient care, you will
support consultations for Jeanes Hospital, a 176-bed community
hospital, and collaborate on outpatient CL services alongside
residents in the CL Psychiatry subspecialty track. Temple Health is
expanding its mental health programs, including a comprehensive
women’s mental health initiative, proactive CL services, and
integrated behavioral health care within primary care practices
across the system. This position offers robust opportunities for
bedside and didactic teaching, resident supervision, and
participation in multidisciplinary research efforts throughout the
Lewis Katz School of Medicine. Weekend/evening call
responsibilities are shared on a rotating basis (approximately
three weekends per year). Highlights • Clinical care: Conduct
comprehensive evaluations, including history-taking, mental status
examinations, and diagnostic assessments, for patients from a range
of cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds • Culture:
Experience a collaborative, collegial environment amongst nursing
staff, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare
professionals to address the comprehensive needs of patients •
Teaching and Mentoring: Educate, supervise, and mentor psychiatry
residents, medical students, and other trainees in clinical
settings • Research and Scholarship: Benefit from research
mentorship and opportunities, and participate in institutional
committees and initiatives • Administrative Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical
protocols and policies and maintain accurate and timely
documentation of patient care and academic activities Candidate
Qualifications • MD, DO or foreign equivalent from an accredited
institution. • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry
residency. • Fellowship training in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry
or ABPN subspecialty certification with equivalent experience. •
Board eligibility or certification in Psychiatry. • Strong
interpersonal and communication skills for multidisciplinary
collaboration. • Eligibility for unrestricted Pennsylvania medical
