Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Stepdown RN – Virginia Start Date: February 17, 2026 Location: Arlington, Virginia Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, days, every other weekend Highlights: 13-week assignment in a specialized cardiovascular stepdown/telemetry unit Focus on post-cardiac surgery patients transitioning from ICU with complex cardiac needs Epic EMR system with training provided based on experience level 24 hours of orientation to ensure smooth onboarding 4:1 patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, and rapid response teams 21-bed unit serving adult patient population Requirements: Active Virginia or Compact nursing license in hand at time of submission Current BLS and ACLS certifications Minimum 2 years of RN experience Strong cardiac telemetry/stepdown background with demonstrated experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias Previous experience with cardiovascular stepdown patients and telemetry monitoring Proficiency in cardiac drip titration, post-cardiac surgery care, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias Epic charting system experience required; at least 6 months of recent Epic experience preferred for accelerated training Community hospital and Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I preferred COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only) Flu vaccination required during flu season (medical exemptions only) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This role offers the chance to provide high-acuity cardiovascular care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients in a specialized stepdown environment.
