This contract opportunity is based in Gaithersburg, MD, offering a structured 13-week assignment with a day shift schedule. Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland, is a vibrant city known for its diverse community and proximity to the nations capital. Schedule/Hours: 4x10-hour day shifts (06:45 AM 5:15 PM) Weekend shifts required On-call duties including 10-15 shifts per contract, covering weekday nights and 24-hour weekend call Holiday coverage as scheduled Floating within specialty and general OR as needed Qualifications and Experience: Registered Nurse with active Maryland state license and BLS certification (ACLS preferred) Minimum 5 years of OR experience; first-time travelers with strong general OR background, especially in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and General Surgery, are considered Circulating and scrub experience is mandatory Familiarity with sterile surgical protocols Responsibilities: Provide expert nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room Collaborate with surgical teams for complex cases including heart surgeries Manage on-call responsibilities effectively, ensuring patient safety during all hours Support flexible scheduling by assisting in general OR cases as needed Adhere to sterile technique and surgical scrub requirements This role offers a chance to advance specialized nursing skills within a dynamic surgical environment while gaining valuable experience in cardiovascular operations.
