be considered. Providing nursing care in an educational environment
designed for students with visual impairments requires a unique
blend of clinical expertise and compassion. This full-time contract
position supports K-12 students in a specialized school setting
focused on the blind community, ensuring their health and safety
throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver
comprehensive nursing services to students across all grade levels,
including medication administration, health assessments, and
emergency care. - Monitor and manage specific health needs related
to visual impairments and other conditions affecting this
population. - Collaborate with school staff, families, and
healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans. -
Document all nursing interventions and maintain accurate medical
records. - Assist with mobility and physical support as needed,
including safe positioning and transfers. Qualifications and
Experience: - Current Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is
required. - Proven experience in school nursing or pediatric care,
preferably with special needs populations. - Physical capability to
push and pull 100 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds. - Comfortable
working evening hours: Monday through Thursday from 3 PM to 11 PM,
and Friday from 12:45 PM to 3:45 PM. - Strong communication skills
for interacting effectively with students, staff, and families.
Location and Schedule: - Position based in Laurel, MD. - Full-time,
five days per week. - Contract duration: Current School Year (CSY).
