Job Description Job Description Qualifications Purpose & Scope:
The physician is a member of the healthcare team who works in
collaboration with other staff to provide comprehensive healthcare
services to patients. The scope of practice of each physician is
defined through the health system’s credentialing and privileging
committee. The Physician supports objectives, budget, and
performance metrics at the individual level. Supports all medical
activities at the individual level including implementation of
quality control standards, risk management and compliance programs.
The role of a physician is to provide quality clinical care to
those individuals who have chosen VHC Health in a timely manner to
meet the needs of our patients. Education: Doctorate from
accredited medical school is required. Experience: One year of
medical/surgical experience is required. Certifications/Licensure:
Licensed to Practice Medicine by the Virginia Department of Health
Professions is required. Purpose & Scope: An Advanced Practice
Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) employed by
VHC Health Physicians (“Physician Group”) is required to complete
an APP Agreement with their Collaborating Physician(s). This
Agreement will describe the APP’s role and function, APP/Physician
Relationship, Functions of the APP, Privileges/Procedures,
Prescriptive Authority, Documentation Responsibilities and
Evaluation process. Overall, the APP will support objectives,
budget, performance metrics and medical activities at an Individual
level including implementation of quality control standards, risk
management and compliance programs. Education: Master's in Nursing
Required or Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant
program required. Experience: Two Years Nurse Practitioner or
Physician Assistant Preferred. Certification/Licensure: Licensed as
a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the Virginia
Department of Health Professions Required. Licensed as a Registered
Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions Required for
NPs. Current NCCPA certification required; and BLS certification
required; and ACLS certification preferred for PAs. AWARDS &
